Die Jugendforscher Hutsch und Ringo führen diese Entwicklung insbesondere auf die im Jahre 2005 eingeführten Hartz IV-Gesetze zurück.
Klassische psychoanalytische Entwicklungsmodelle betrachten die Kindheit als einen Lebensabschnitt, der durch vielfältige und monstrous Veränderungen geprägt ist. Nach dem Eriksonschen Entwicklungsmodellen sind die Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen in dieser Lebensphase des Individuums besonders prägend. Anlehnend an diese Erkenntnisse aus der Identitäts- und Entwicklungsforschung, können die durch die Armut hervorgehenden Lebensumstände Auswirkungen auf die psychische sowie physische Entwicklung für Individuen verursachen und somit zu einer einschneidenden Erfahrung für die Individuen werden, welche das ganze spätere Leben prägen kann. Hierbei wird die Dringlichkeit und Signifikanz der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Kinderarmut erkenntlich.
Dies stellt das Thema dieser Seminararbeit dar und wird anhand von des ressourcenorientierten – und des Lebenslagenansatzes näher beleuchtet. Zudem zeigt diese Arbeit das Ausmaß der Kinderarmut in Deutschland auf. Die genaue Auseinandersetzung mit den Folgen und dem Ausmaß der Kinderarmut in Deutschland ist in den Vordergrund zu stellen, um in dem darauffolgenden Kapitel effektive Handlungsmöglichkeiten der sozialen Arbeit und Präventionsmaßnahmen hervorzubringen. Von Nöten ist demnach auch die in Kapitel 2 vorgenommene Begriffserläuterung, welche die Probleme und state of affairs der in Armut lebenden Kinder in Deutschland konkretisieren soll.
